Our Story

Good Food Runs in the Family

Roux is a small batch bakery, café, and roaster founded and owned by Hayley Turnbull - a lifelong food entrepreneur with a dream to create a space for delicious, locally sourced food in KW.

In 2023 Hayley combined her artisanal market bakery Palmer’s Baked Goods with original co-founder Amy Grimba’s dairy delivery business The Milkman’s Daughter to form Roux Bakehouse in Kitchener’s Belmont Village. The Bakehouse was born with a focus on fresh sourdough-based breads and pastries, curated local grocery items, and creating a space that the community could call their own.

Since joining forces with Hayley's business (and life) partner Logan Fuller in 2024, Roux has been able to bring the same passion for specialty coffee that Hayley brings for artisanal baked goods.

My Main Street Initiative

Roux Bakehouse is supported by the My Main Street, the Canadian Urban Institute, and the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), enabling us to expand bread production, enhance our coffee offerings, and partner with local businesses to deliver quality products.
