Tasting notes: tangerine, maple, peach
Nestled in Kenya's Cherengany Hills, Muinami Estate sits in a cold microclimate along the Mt. Elgon range. Farmer Stephen Nendela revived this 17-acre plot - a coffee farm in the 1970s that had gone fallow - terracing it into seven blocks of carefully tended varietals and agroforestry. The name Muinami means "those who work" in Kikuyu, and that shows in the process: cherries are hand-picked at peak ripeness, fermented for extended hours, then slowly dried under shade over two weeks.
Roasted in Kitchener, ON by Roux Bakehouse.
